Like all the best love stories, this one started with a girl (me), her dog (Fox), and one very mundane Monday morning.
The dream was simple — to find a career that allowed flexibility, freedom, and the ability to work from anywhere, without a ceiling on earnings. And to do it without stepping away from my existing job, going back into full-time education, or spending years grinding through nights for a second degree.
I did the digging, compared the options, and found my path. Financial services was it. Once I’d decided, there was no looking back.
My expectations of learning in this industry had been carefully managed. Colleagues warned me the courses were dull, outdated, and honestly boring as hell. But that was just financial services, right?
As the months passed, watching people endure mind-numbing training purely for the sake of career progression, the feeling grew stronger. There had to be another way. We shouldn’t have to sacrifice engagement for professional development.
Then that thing happened.
I sat a five-day intensive fast-track course and still failed the exam.
So why am I telling you this?
Because that failure lit a fire in me. A fire to make sure no one else ever spends money on a programme that offers limited support, no aftercare, and no safety net. I never want anyone to feel as deflated, frustrated, or frankly dumb as I felt after being told a fast-track course was their best hope.
The course failed me. And that’s exactly why I built Future in Finance.
Dyslexic? Me too, I can help.
Learn best while out on a run? I’ve got you.
Need a pep-talk before your exam to remind you just how capable you are? I’m your woman.
